LEAVENWORTH — Two Eastern Washington nonprofits are teaming up to raise money for critical animal welfare programs through Rescue Rocks, a benefit event set for Sept. 6 at the Leavenworth Festhalle.
Presented by Cascade Veterinary Clinics, the event is organized by Team Okanogan Animal Rescue (TOAR) and Okandogs. Proceeds will support spay and neuter services, rescue and adoption programs, and resources for pets and families in rural communities where access to veterinary care is limited.
“Access to basic vet care is still out of reach for many rural families,” said Jill Servais, president of TOAR. “This event allows us to step in where no public shelters exist, and to give animals and their people the help they need”.
Rescue Rocks will run from 6 to 10 p.m. and feature live music, food, drinks and auctions. Headlining the evening is Hit Machine, a cover band from Portland, Oregon, known for playing crowd favorites spanning several decades.
A live auction will offer items including autographed jerseys from Mariners greats Cal Raleigh and Ichiro Suzuki, a private yacht cruise for 10 on Lake Washington, a meet-and-greet with members of the band Train, and a VIP tour and tickets to a Seattle Kraken game. A silent auction will also be available online for remote participants.
The funds will help pay for upcoming programs such as BIG FIX 4.0, a four-day free veterinary clinic scheduled for Sept. 25–28. Organizers expect to provide spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations and microchips for more than 1,000 animals.
Rescue Rocks is supported by sponsors including Cascade Auto Center, Firehouse Pet Shop, Warm Foundation, Paw Arty by PawswithCause, Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Biouvac Cellars.
Tickets and auction access are available at www.toarwa.org/rescuerocks
