Team Okanogan Animal Rescue (TOAR) provided free vaccines and microchips to 275 dogs at two community clinics this past weekend, part of the ongoing mission to improve animal health and access to care across the region.

The clinics were staffed by 30 local volunteers and a six-person medical team, and made possible through collaboration with CARA Veterinary, Pawsitive Alliance, Greater Good Charities, and Oroville and Brewster high schools.

“This is part of a much larger effort to improve the overall quality of life for animals in Okanogan County,” said Jill Servais, President of TOAR.

“We know how much people here love their pets, and we’re doing everything we can to bring services directly to them—no cost, no barriers.”

The clinics not only delivered essential care to pets but also brought neighbors together in apowerful display of support and compassion.

“The sense of community was incredible, with volunteers and pet lovers coming together with a shared goal of improving animal health,” said Dr. Peter Brown, DVM at CARA Veterinary. “It was inspiring to be part of such a well-coordinated, compassionate effort. The impact we made was real.”

These clinics are just one part of TOAR’s larger initiatives. The next major event, BIG FIX 3.0, will take place June 26–29, 2025—a FREE, four-day spay/neuter clinic aiming to alter over 1,000 animals.
